I had been toying with the idea of buying a dumbphone for quite a few months, doing as much research as I could. It was hard at first because, since the 2g shutdown, there aren’t a lot of viable dumbphones that could be used in Australia vs the rest of the world; such as the Nokia 2720. I came across the Commodore 8020 callback, which looked really promising, but I wasn’t prepared to pay over $600+ for a phone off the bat. Enter: Ruio Joy. Improvements: Improved quality of sleep; I’m finally not waking up 3-4 times a night. Instead, my sleep is longer and deeper. I am more present. Time goes by more slowly when I’m not consumed by a device. It’s genuinely fantastic.
