i tried a full-blown dumbphone a couple of years ago and it was just too punishing. i'm a big music and podcasts guy so anything that makes that too difficult is a dealbreaker. considered the various bespoke minimal phone options and i'm sure i would have tried some if they weren't so prohibitively expensive. i tried a unihertz jelly 2 a couple years ago and that seems to be a pretty good balance in terms of functionality and friction, but it died within a month and i returned for a refund. bought the $99 (in australia) ruio joy (t9 android phone) on a whim three months ago.
